Early summer in a high valley near the village of Névache in southeastern France. The same general area in the French/Italian alps as the waterfall in the previous image. Nikon D850, 16mm, 1/20s, f/9.0, ISO 80
This is the first of two images taken late one day as we drove past the ever-captivating roadside view of the Sneffels range. Especially attractive in the fall, a passing storm coated the mountaintops with a dusting of snow. As we drove by from Ridgway, the overcast, rainy day began to break up just at sunset. The lingering clouds picked up a glowing orange-pink haze as the sun set. Nikon Z7, 64mm, 0.4s, f/9.0, ISO 100
A second image from the same sunset on the Dallas Divide pass. A closer view of Mt Sneffels with the area basking is a pinkish glow as a high altitude snow storm begins to break up. Nikon Z7, 110mm, 1/6s, f/9.0, ISO100, exposure bracketed
